Glickman Psychological Services does not contract with any insurance plans, and therefore is considered an out-of-network provider.   As such, payment in full is due at the time of the appointment.  However, clients may use their out-of-network benefits to get reimbursed for a portion of the cost of treatment.  We regularly provide detailed receipts for clients to submit to their insurance for reimbursement.  Please see below for information on how to find out if you have out of network benefits.

Many insurance plans provide out-of-network benefits whereby you pay the full fee at the time of the therapy session, and then you can submit a receipt to your insurance carrier to get reimbursed for a portion of the session fee.  Typically, there is a deductible that needs to be met first, and then the insurance company will reimburse you for a percentage of the fees.

You can call the member services number on the back of your insurance card to ask about out-of-network benefits.  It can be helpful to let them know that you are specifically asking about benefits for outpatient mental health/psychotherapy services in an office setting.  They will then look up your benefits and inform you: 1) if you have out-of-network benefits for these services or not, and 2) if you do have out-of-network benefits, the deductible amount that you must pay prior to getting reimbursed by them, as well as the coinsurance, which is typically a percentage of the cost that you are responsible for.   For example, if you have a 30% coinsurance, it means that they will reimburse you for 70% of the cost and your out-of-pocket cost after reimbursement will be 30%.  When using out-of-network benefits, it is the responsibility of the client to pay the full fee for all sessions at the time of the appointment.  We will then provide a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Some clients who don’t have out-of network benefits utilize their FSA or HSA accounts to cover the cost of therapy.   Other clients simply pay out-of-pocket for therapy and do not submit for reimbursements.

Each client is an individual and comes to therapy with different strengths and challenges.  As such, it is difficult to give an answer as to how many sessions might be needed.  We use a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy (CBT), which is goal-focused.  Your therapist will ask you to set goals for therapy during the intake session, and will individually tailor the treatment to help you achieve those goals.  CBT, which has been proven to be effective for children, teens, and adults in numerous studies, can help clients reach their goals in the most effective and efficient manner.  Furthermore, CBT provides you and/or your child with life long skills to help you manage any future challenges that may arise once treatment is completed.
